Carlsbad, CA...Global Archives, Inc. announces the introduction of two online products that work together
to keep a company's data current and safe, around the clock.
Remote Backup
is an automatic, self-updating software program that performs timely backups of a company's data; typically on a preset night-time schedule
and/or on demand, as required. The data is stored on
LockBoxtm
, an offsite, Level 3, web-based archiving repository that assures complete disaster recovery in event of an onsite or
regional catastrophe.
According to Global Archives President John Ermoian, "Every day when the business day closes, it opens the
door to the potential loss of all of its data. Taped backups performed by staff are arbitrary, unreliable,
inconvenient and subject to human error. If backups are stored onsite, they are at risk of being lost or
irretrievably damaged. Furthermore, the news has been recently reporting a number of lost or stolen data
shipments from third party tape center vaults. Not good! By contrast, Remote Backup is conducted with
automated software at a scheduled time (usually when the company is closed). Online backups are encrypted
for complete security, backed up redundantly, then sent and stored offsite at our LockBox repository."
Ermoian says that the system is highly sophisticated, yet easy to use and extremely secure. Remote Backup
ensures that the correct and current files are backed up at each session. The servers and software are
compatible with most versions of Windows, complies with HIPPA and Federal 5015 regulations, accommodates
unlimited file size and count, creates activity reports, incorporates quick and easy restoration and,
because data is swiftly transmitted and safety stored offsite, offers unparalleled security and peace of
mind. LockBox is user-friendly and supports a wide range of Internet browsers, including IE Explorer,
Netscape and Mozilla's FireFox.
Global Archives has produced informational sheets on Remote Backup and LockBox, among other product offerings.
They are available in hard copy and on the company's website at
