Generation Y Calls for Increases in Healthcare Technology

A popular notion suggests generation Y individuals (ages 18-34) are perhaps too tachnologically savvy for our healthcare system today. According to a recent survey by New York-based ZocDoc, 50% of generation Y members delay medical care because the process is a “pain”. An even higher percentage asserted that it was easier to evaluate a gadget or locate hotel review information than it was to find a health physician to fit their needs. Quite simply, generation Y desires a technologically modern level of healthcare immediacy.

4 Ways to Respond to Claim Delays

  1. It never hurts to ‘double-check’: Strategically assign office personnel temporary duties of calling each payor to ensuring claim processing and payments.
  2. Use your lifeline to phone a friend: Clearinghouses have helped many centers comply with impending 5010 deadlines by establishing a number of payor-center connections.
  3. By all means, get the money: Although not ideal for the long-term of 5010 protocol, some centers have submitted claims with 4010 in order to receive some form of payment.
  4. Prepare for future changes: So as to limit the stress of future mandated infrastructural conversions, centers should take the lesson learned from 5010 to begin proactively preparing for ICD-10. Learn how GA can help your facility get online today!

What's New at Global Archives:

Global Archives is excited for the finalization of GAForms.net. This additional sub-component of Global Archives will allow clients to access and customize a series of universal forms rather than creating them from scratch – yet another way Global Archives can cut costs, boost efficiency and minimize redundancy.
